General

From the head of FutureChurch, main organisers of my U.S. Tour

I am compiling a report on our Tony Flannery tour and thought you would be interested in reading some of the publicity Tony received here in the USA.  In short, he quickly became known as a truth-telling folk hero and wisdom figure for thousands with a delightful flare for making the knotty difficulties involved in working for reform lighter through humor.  Tony was easily loved and embraced by everyone he met.

Thank You

I know that I have many readers in the US, as a result of my time there.  Now that I have returned home, I wish to use this medium to say thanks to all who were involved in making my tour such a wonderful experience.

Thanks to all the people who accommodated me in the various different cities, people who opened their homes to me, and were unfailingly generous and welcoming.

NCR account of my talks at Call to Action conference in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TENN.

About 1,000 progressive Catholics gathered here to discuss Catholic church reform at Call to Action’s 2014 national conference, and a popular speaker was Irish Redemptorist Fr. Tony Flannery.

Flannery drew such a large crowd for his Nov. 8 morning presentation that it had to be moved to a bigger space. CTA’s conference, which ran Nov. 7-9, was the 11th spot on Flannery’s 18-stop U.S. tour, sponsored by 12 Catholic reform movements.
